ChicP founder and Home Business 100 member Hannah McCollum has had an incredibly successful 2016 filled with awards and deals

ChicP Founder and Home Business 100 member Hannah McCollum has had an incredibly successful 2016 with ChicP hummus now stocked in Wholefoods, As Nature Intended, Fortnum & Mason and from January 2017, Selfridges and Harrods.

Earlier this year, ChicP became the first food waste entrepreneur to join Tesco’s BackIt crowdfunding platform which aims to address food wastage on a national scale.

Hannah founded ChicP last year, having previously worked as a private chef. Her love of cooking lead to an appreciation of the fresh produce often deemed not fit for sale by large retailers. With 40% of fresh produce disguarded before even reaching the shop floor, Hannah saw an opportunity to turn her passion into a productive business.

2016 has also brought awards and recognition for Hannah and the ChicP team, who won Best Convenience Food Innovation Award at the World Food Innovation Awards 2016. In the UK, where one third of all food produced is never consumed, ChicP has an ever-increasing base of loyal customers who not only love the taste of the hummus, but also support the ethos behind the product.

Working from home afforded Hannah the flexibility to grow her business. A business which is now set to take the market by storm in 2017.
